Box Contents main unit instructions Car Cradle Car battery adapter Carrying Case USB cable application disc -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Customer Reviews not vista compatible. Major problem with this series of sat navs is that they are not vista compatible. Plug it into a vista pc or laptop and it will sit on a looped screen. I have written several times to Sony and they have confirmed it is not compatible but also have the cheek to say it is not their problem but microsofts and that no updated firmware is likely. This depsite the unit being launched after vista was on the scene. Their website is very misleading as it states all units are compatible or under investigation, seeing as how it is now October i have asked that they should correct this to show that it is not compatible. Other issue i have is that there is no indiccation of updates to safety camera information, so you get a years subscription which is not updated so will quickly be out of date, again their eventual reply to me was no indication of updates being issued. Shame really cos the unit looks the business but shows you should really stick to a dedicated sat nav maker like tom tom, sony have dipped their toe in the water put out flashy units but have no intention of supporting them. My advice, avoid and buy tomtom Sony NV-U82G Speed cameras will cost you a packet! Although I was pleased with the big display & directional functionality of this unit, it was advertised (Argos)as having 1 year\'s free safety-camera subscription. I followed guidance on Sony\'s web-site to download the appropriate data-file which began the subscription. Menu items illustrated in the online guide were missing. After going round in circles clicking buttons I looked at FAQs, one of which implied that this would only work if I paid a further £60 for a TMC equipped car-cradle. In fact all I had to do was run (double-click)the downloaded file with the Sony NV-U 82 connected to my PC and the phantom menus appeared. Nowhere in Sony\'s instructions was this put in simple English. I don\'t look forward to firmware updates or adding maps! Gets you there, what more can you ask?! I bought this item today ready to take on holiday later in the week. I have tried it out today and found it really good. It is quick to find it\'s position and also very quick to adjust the route if you take a wrong turning. The only slight criticism is that when you are planning a long route, you can\'t get it to tell you which route it is taking in words (eg. M25, M3, A27 etc) but it only shows you on a little map. You also can\'t programme it to avoid certain roads (eg. the M25!) which you can with the TomTom. Otherwise it does everything you need, quickly and accurately, and the nice lady even remembers to say please :)
