Well this is my second 710 it has just had the same fault re-occurring, as the first. Amazon replaced in two days, a great service. This 710 is now over the thrity days and won\'t switch off, screen has gone blank and won\'t connect to the computor. Pressed the reset button, it has come back to life in the car. Same problem re-ocurrred when re-connected to the computor, Tom Tom\'s soft ware not detecting the unit, and the 710 goes blank. AMAZON with draw the units until Tom Tom can resolve the problem, and contacts all users with a get well solution. I live and work in Europe, tomorrow its back to having the road maps as a back up. Message for Tom Tom, come clean and fix the problem.

I\'ve now had two Tom Tom\'s, which I\'ve found to be very good to use. However, they don\'t last. Both failed after just over a year and so I won\'t be buying another.

Customer Review: Never get lost again
All I have had this unit for 6 months now and therefore feel qualified to give my view on it.
In terms of ease of use, adding locations etc it is excellent. Searching by POI (points of interest) makes travelling so easy, e.g. driving around centre of Edinburgh, and want to navigate to the nearest aquarium. 2 minutes later we were on our way.
Downsides
** Mediocre arm to hold in place. (My wife has problems pushing it on the windscreen with sufficiient strength)
** TomTom traffic - Never allow tom tom to replan your route to avoid delays....It ends in disaster every time. I switch it on and use it as an esxtra source of information only. I let it take me off the M25 to avoid a 30 minute delay and hit a 2.5 hour delay on the A3 which did not even register on tom tom traffic.
** Takes a while to recover signal when you switch on in the morning.
** Battery life is not good for using as handheld around city.
Upside
** I have never been lost since buying it.....I sometimes still take the wrong turns but I can always find my way back.
** It makes travelling more fun as you count down the miles to the next exit/junction
** Very accurate in terms of predicted time of arrival.
I\'d buy one especially as Ł70 cheaper in the past 6 months.
Customer Review: Amazon Hone Delivery Service
I recently purchased a TomTom One GB XL from Amazon. The processing and despatch time was fine. However, the delivery company used by Amazon called \'Home Delivery Network\' decided to leave my sat nav system in a council wheelie bin outside my house. I only just managed to retrieve the package before it was collected. This not what I would class as a \"safe and secure\" appraoch to home deliveries - so be careful when ordering from Amazon.

Customer Review: Very good indeed
I recently bought a Binatone Carrera and it was absolute total rubbish (see my review here at Amazon). I returned it and bought the ONE XL. What a world of difference. Best route first try every time, instantly recalculates if you decide to go a different way, easy to use menus, good to look at.
I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that it doesn\'t know where I live. I live on a small island between canal and river, and not only does it not recognise my post code or address, but the island is shown on its map as having no roads. Indeed, the bridge onto the island is not even shown! Surprising really, as the residences here have been here for at least 6 or 7 years. I await news from TomTom about this.
Customer Review: Amazing technology
What a life saver driving straight to locations instead of spending hours poring over the maps! Unfortunately mine has only lasted 13 weeks before a fault has developed with the touch screen flashing on & off. Has anyone out there successfully returned anything to Amazon?
