Customer Review: Benefon twig Sat NAV phone
Absolutely brilliant sat nav in my view, and best of all its free and no
messing around with set ups, registering or subscriptions like with
other sat nav phones. It all works as soon as you turn it on. Clear and
LOUD spoken sat nav, various languages, and full postcodes, plus up to
date traffic info. And at 200 quid its HALF the cost of others!. Whats
cool as well is the GPS profiling, you can choose and create new GPS
profiles, eg, super economy mode to conserve battery life. All GPS
phones drain batteries quickly but with this feature you can control it
well. Of course when you're in the car, its on charge all the time
anyway so battery life is no issue. When you want GPS and sat nav out of
vehicle, eg, biking, walking, finding points of interest, etc, then
super economy mode is fine. I was well impressed with the box package as
you get everything included, and it syncs brilliantly with a PC. Very
fast and easy, all my contacts and images, straight on. Its limited in
that there is no camera, and its not great for music, but you dont buy
it for that. Probably the best feature of all is the POI points of
interest feature where you can type in what you're looking for whilst on
the move, eg, nearest train station, hospital, restaurant, etc, and it
will take you straight there. It also finds other twig users and offers
map route to them. You can also send your exact location to anyone, and
find others' locations. Its quite addictive and you find yourself using
it just for the sake of it!! I havent used the emergency alert feature
yet....and may never do but its good peace of mind. I have designated 2
emergency contacts to receive a text location, and 2-way voice call if
pushed in emergency. I guess its useful if you're working alone or
getting mugged. I tend to think of my twig as a sat nav GPS device,
which is also a phone; rather than the other way round. Its not as slim
and good looking as modern phones, so dont buy it if you want a fashion
device, but its the smallest and best looking sat nav i've seen, and it
does everything else i need as well as make calls. I would recommend it
to anyone who needs sat nav every day, and wants the benefit of GPS on
the go, finding places and never getting lost, on foot, bike, whatever.
Also, you eliminate the risk of your sat nav getting nicked from your
car since its always with you. The price point makes it a definite
bargain.
